We were just in San Diego for the Overland & Powersports Show — one of the cleanest crossovers of overland builds and powersports culture we’ve seen.
San Diego matters to us. It’s one of FLATED’s two home bases, which made it easy for both founders to be on-site, meeting customers face-to-face and connecting directly with the community. No layers — just real conversations about how people are actually using their trucks.
This show made one thing clear: overland and powersports belong together.
A big part of the crowd were ATV riders and dirt bike enthusiasts who need real bed space. Not everyone wants a permanent shell. Not everyone has room to store a bulky hard topper. Riders want protection for gear when they need it — and open bed access when they’re hauling toys.
That’s where AirTopper fits naturally. Lightweight. Strong. Easy to install. Easy to store. Protection when you need it, gone when you don’t.
We talked to riders hauling side-by-sides, dual sports, and full-size quads. The common thread: flexibility matters. Being able to adapt your truck between work, ride days, and travel is the whole point.
It was also just good to be home — shaking hands with local customers, hearing trail stories from Baja to the Sierras, and seeing how this community keeps evolving.
Next up: Austin.
We’re excited to head to Texas for the next installment of the show series and see how the overland and powersports crowd shows up there. If San Diego was any indication, it’s going to be a strong one.
