Here’s how to keep your FLATED® products looking great and performing well with just a few easy maintenance steps — especially if you use them full-time!

Clean FLATED® products with the FLATED® Inflatable Cleaner

Keep your FLATED® products clean by washing them like you would your vehicle! The road is rough out there — salt, dirt, and grime can affect not only the look but also the drop-stitch material and fabric longevity. Use FLATED® Inflatable Cleaner to keep it looking and feeling fresh, especially before storing your gear.

1. Spray: Generously spray FLATED® Inflatable Cleaner onto the drop-stitch material.
2. Scrub: Use a soft brush or cloth to gently scrub away dirt and grime.
3. Rinse: Rinse with water or wipe clean with a damp microfiber cloth.
4. Dry: Ensure the surface is thoroughly dried before storing.
5. Treat: Follow up with FLATED® Inflatable UV Guard to protect, condition, and enhance the appearance.

Use UV Spray to Protect FLATED® Drop-Stitch Material

Direct sunlight can wear down even the toughest materials. Applying FLATED® UV Guard regularly helps shield the surface from harmful UV rays. Although the topper is treated with UV protection, refreshing it keeps it looking new and flexible.

This spray not only prevents fading but hydrates the material, keeping it flexible and easier to store. It’s also great for the window material—especially in dry climates. A quick spray every few weeks is all it takes to keep things in excellent condition.

Drop Stitch & PVC Surfaces:

1. Apply: Apply FLATED® Inflatable UV Guard using a sponge or applicator pad.
2. Wipe: Evenly coat all drop-stitch and vinyl surfaces.
3. Dry: Allow the product to dry fully before folding or storing.

Storing Inflatable Products:

Before storage, condition your FLATED® products as outlined above. Regular use of FLATED® Inflatable UV Guard prolongs the life of your inflatable gear and keeps it soft, flexible, and easy to manage.

Keep the Clear Vinyl Windows Crystal Clear

The clear vinyl windows on the FLATED® Air-Topper® provide visibility, while the rest of the topper is built for strength and durability. Both need care to maintain performance. For clear windows, dilute FLATED® Inflatable UV Guard to gently remove dust and buildup without streaks.

Vinyl or Glass Windows:

1. Dilute: Mix 50 parts water to 1 part product.
2. Spray: Lightly mist the area to be cleaned.
3. Wipe: Use a microfiber cloth or paper towel to clean, then wipe dry for a polished look.

Lubricate the Zippers for Smooth Functionality

The zippers on your FLATED® products can stick if exposed to dust or cold. Use a zipper cleaner and follow up with zipper lubricant to keep them gliding smoothly. And remember—never force a zipper!

Rinse the Straps

Straps are key to securing your topper. Periodically loosen and rinse them with water to remove dirt and debris, then retighten once dry. Clean straps maintain strength and last longer.

Clean the Velcro

Velcro fasteners are essential for secure attachment, but lint and debris can weaken their grip. Give Velcro strips a quick rinse and gentle brush to remove buildup—this small step ensures a reliable hold every time.

Set the Correct PSI for Optimal Performance

Maintaining the right PSI is crucial for your FLATED® Air-Topper®. The ideal range is 5–8 PSI. In warmer weather, use 5–6 PSI (air expands with heat). In colder climates, set closer to 7–8 PSI to offset contraction. Regularly check and adjust pressure to ensure your topper performs optimally in any condition.

Taking Your FLATED® Products Through the Car Wash

We don’t recommend it. Automatic car washes can damage your FLATED® products. Instead, use our cleaning solutions or a self-service spray station. It’s safer, gentler, and keeps your gear looking great.
