I love my Flated! It has given me the ability to do all the things I love independently again! It is easy on and off and so durable and dry. It gave me confidence again to do things on my own as a woman on my own.
I'm a single woman and bought this because I needed something I could Install myself on my truck to move from Dallas to California. it was perfect. it did not budge on the entire drive. instructions were clear. the company is great and I was happy to support them. I found out about this product from my brother who bought one and I'm so glad I got one too. 10/10 no regrets
Good:
inflated quick and easy w/hand pump
able to move/put it on myself as advertised (65y/m)
deflated/removed and inflated/raised again twice w/out issues
dry after 1000 miles in the PNW
looks great!
Bad:
Corner tears on the plastic corner fitting near the cab - they should pull-over the rail
they tail gate strap closure is a joke and I'm assuming a temp fix
don't charge $25.00 for a valve adaptor I can use on my own inflator.
I wish it would fit under a load-bearing rack that can be left on the truck.
Super EZ install. Solid construction. No squeaks, no buffeting, no noise- Excellent product for my occasional need for a topper.
AWESOME customer service!!!
I started my Flated journey with a week in Creede CO followed up by camping at Chaco Canyon NM and Mesa Verde CO. Everything went great for my first trip with the unit which is now packed away in my attic.
Purchased for a road trip from CA to CO. Survived the high speed interstate highways, rain and some hail. Kept my items dry, but there was a little water leakage at some gaps near the front. Otherwise, no water leakage. Easy to set up and hand pump was fast enough. Because of the bed of the Ridgeline, only holding down with 4 straps, but it’s plenty secure. No rubbing noise, no wind noise, no drop in fuel mileage that is noticeable. Performs as advertised and as I hoped. Great product!!!!
Love this concept and also the fact that its super light weight and can fold down if I’m not going to use it for little while. More than likely I’ll keep it on my truck all the time. The height is perfect. A little taller than my hard topper. On the inside. In the heat it feels cooler than my topper does. Next things to do is to add some lights inside and rear break light accessory.
Threw this on my ‘24 Ridgeline in about 30 minutes. I added a D-ring in the second bed screw to allow the middle tie down to work. Piled in 8 yellow top black containers (IYKYK, the ones at every home center) with tons of stuff on the sides and top of the bins. A few ratchet straps to secure everything. Then, a 2000+ mile drive that included a drive over the Bitterroot Mts through MT/ID. The website says tested at 70 mph. I’ll tell you I was way over that for most of the drive in western states - high wind, high speed limits. Not a peep from the air topper and only compliments from people along the way. I couldn’t be more impressed.
For Ridgeline owners, this isn’t a perfect fit and needs a little finessing. Take your time and wiggle it around to get a good fit. Read online for some people’s hacks for this truck - foam noodles, etc. I didn’t bother with any of that and just accepted imperfections. If Flated rolled out a Ridgeline fitted model like they did for the Maverick (ahem…) I would sell this one to a Tacoma owner and purchase that one in a heartbeat. As is, this thing is great, it’s made in the USA, it exceeds my expectations, and there is a ton of support from Flated. Great product from an emerging great company in the outdoor adventure space.
I bought this a little over a month ago and I finally got to use it on our camping trip to valley of fire in navada. It was awesome! Easy to put on myself as a single mom. I think this was the best purchase ever! I'm definitely going to invest in some of the other products like the air mattress..
It is so hard to find a topper for a Ridgeline, and in Alaska at that. Leer and ARE cost 6-8k for my truck. I was blown away by the affordability and availability of Flated. I chose the MR411 and it fits wonderfully. I have received so many compliments. I added a layer of foam stripping from Home Depot ($17) along the bed rails and no leaks. I drive this on a super windy highway along the coast and the windows don’t even flutter. It’s solid, it’s warm, and it fits well. I was able to take it on and off very easily a few times by myself. I couldn’t be happier.
Oh - and the customer service - top notch! I had some questions and they got answered thoroughly and promptly.
Love the company, love the product!
What a terrific product…Late in the season camping with extra gear so need more room than my normal cover. During the camping trip we had a few days of crazy rain and winds…not a drop of water on the inside.
We drove around 400+ miles with zero issues
Nice product that will disappear to a shelf in the garage after we return home.
Chiller
I think I have the first one in Australia!
I have been waiting since last year for flated to make an Aussie store but got it shipped as I knew it’s what I needed. Install was obviously a breeze and the look is fantastic ! It’s a shame the new style rear door came out the day after I ordered. So I ordered and still waiting on the post for that to arrive. It would be great if there was some ppf
Paint protection film supplied with it for the tailgate , and I will try shuffle it back a whisker from my rear window so that doesn’t scratch etc.
At the present it’s hard up on there (seams to maybe be an inch or something too long - but need to try adjust when rear door arrives )
Getting lots of questions and great comments. Cant wait to head up beach with it. Best wishes and keep up the fantastic work! Danny
The topper went great, but the bed wouldn’t stay inflated more than a couple hours and my old man tossed the box so I’m stuck with it now. Otherwise I’m thrilled. Curious to see how long the glue will hold up
This is exactly what I need. Back in the 1980s I had a fiberglass topper and it was bulky and cumbersome to take on and off. This is super easy and light. I have had it for a month and I am still trying to figure out the easiest way to deal with opening the back cover & gate when the topper is on. I could see where it might not be for everyone but for me this was exactly what I needed and wanted.
We love the flated topper. Haven’t had any issues aside from the corners closest to the front of the truck not completely covering those corners although we haven’t had any problems with rain getting in. Would definitely recommend!
There no question this is a well built product. However, I must question that it fits a Honda Ridgeline bed. The fit guide lists Honda Ridgeline as suitable for this topper. But upon receipt and installation, I’m disappointed that the seals along either side of the topper do not fit well over the bed rails. I’d say the topper is not wide enough by at least 4-6 inches. Also, mine as shipped has rubber flaps along the front and sides. Not sure how to make use of these. There’s no reference to them in the online video tutorials. The flap along front seems to just be in the way, and since seals along bottom of the topper walls do not fully span across the bed rails, the flaps along sides do not adequately reach over outer sided of the truck bed to do any good. I think they’re good in concept for providing better watertight performance, but so far I am underwhelmed. I am hoping you can provide me with some insight as to achieve a better, watertight fit for the topper. As of present, it is not living up to my expectations. Thank you
Due to Honda Ridgeline having a truck bed that is conncted to the cabin this topper does not work to seal the rain out and leaks into the bed. The company should have not listed Honda Ridgeline under this product but rather have created a different topper for the trucks with connected beds.
Now having said that my experience with this topper was a disappointment. When anyone buys a camper, it is expected that the topper will protect the bed of the truck from the elements.. most critically water. Upon testing it in the rain and spraying water from above, the bed leaks in all places, specially in the back. The dimensions of the topper isn't fit for the ridgeline cabin to allow seal on the edges and back (width of topper: 55in, ridgeline width: 59.5 inches). The width of the topper gets even smaller as it goes back, against the back window, leaving open space for water leakage. The side skirts to prevent rain are too short to really prevent the rain leak. Now having said that, I spent $100 to try to seal this topper with no luck. The idea is good to have inflatable topper but the execution lacks. I do not recommend this product for Ridgeline owners.
On a positive note: the customer service was responsive and helpful in the return process. So I thank them!
