ALASKA ADVENTURE PT. 2

Alaska has a way of keeping every adventure exciting, and for Ken Hoeve, co-founder of FLATED®, this leg of the FLATED Roadtrip! series was no exception. From fishing in pouring rain to soaking in the wilderness with the Air-Topper® and Air-Deck®, this trip showcased the resilience of both the gear and the adventurer.

Waking Up in Seward at Miller’s Landing

Fresh off the high of the 4th of July Car Launch, Ken started the day at Miller’s Landing in Seward. Surrounded by rugged coastline and misty skies, it was the perfect place to regroup before diving into another Alaskan adventure.

Halibut Fishing in Seward

The next stop was a full day of halibut fishing in Seward, a bucket-list activity in one of Alaska’s most famous fisheries. While the rain poured down relentlessly, Ken checked on his truck camp setup—everything inside stayed completely dry thanks to the FLATED Air-Topper®, proving its durability even in the harshest conditions.

Truck Camping in Homer

Ken then headed down to Homer, Alaska, where the adventure continued with paddle board fishing right off the shoreline. To cap off the day, he hiked up to Carter Lake, a tucked-away gem, and spent time fishing in its pristine alpine waters before returning to camp.

Montana Creek & The Final Nights in Alaska

Before wrapping up the trip, Ken made one last stop at Montana Creek. With both the Air-Topper® and Air-Deck® set up, his truck transformed into a comfortable, reliable camp base for one more night in the Alaskan wilderness. This final stop was the perfect reminder of how FLATED gear makes truck camping seamless, even on the most demanding road trips.

Back to Colorado

With the adventure complete, Ken returned his Turo truck and boarded a flight back to Colorado, closing the book on another unforgettable chapter of the FLATED Roadtrip! series. Rain, fishing, paddling, hiking, and camping—all made possible with the peace of mind that his gear would hold up through it all.
