I love it! Helps for short or long trips to pick something up that needs covering or transporting a big haul across the state. Easy to put up and tear down
I wanted to point out that Rivian Gear Tunnel doors and tailgate can be opened from the touch screen in the cabin, or from the Rivian phone app, or from the Rivian Apple iWatch app. A topper will cover the mechanical buttons on the Rivian bed rails, but it's a non issue. I use the phone app extensively when camping anyway. The Rivian mid rise air topper has been great so far.
Wonderful. Easy to slide on or off with one person. The mid rise has plenty of headroom for me to sit up on my Hest Foamy mattress. I normally sleep in the truck bed under the stars, but this topper will be great in winter and summer monsoon season. The Rivian levels itself which helps set up camp quickly. Don't have to worry about wet or rocky soil conditions and a ground tent. The windows come off quickly to maximize ventilation on hot or humid evenings. The air topper is very solid. The Rivian mid rise version has only two inflation points, not three. I used the Rivian built in air compressor to quickly fill and then hooked up the hand pump to check that pressure was under 8 psi and adjusted accordingly. Currently I sinch it down at four corners and it's nice and secure. The J hooks for the middle straps will be switched to L hooks to better accommodate the Rivian and allow me to pull in the sides just a bit. I hope to finish fine tuning it this weekend. Great product. Zero complaints.
My wife and I received the Flated Mid-Short RIV MR52 and RIV MR52 Air-Window, about two months ago. It has been on our R1T most of the time. We are happy with our purchase and would buy it again. Note that we bought and installed the Air-Window, an additional charge. We find that the Flated topper provides great value for its price. It's a fraction of other topper options costing $1000s more. It was easy to inflate and install. I used the provided hand pump and it only took a few minutes and little effort to inflate. Once inflated I could lift it by myself and place it on the Rivian. I have removed it once to use my R1T as a truck and have re-installed it without a problem. I would never consider removing a metal or fiberglass topper by myself. I drive the R1T with the Flated topper at freeway speeds and I'm not concerned about losing it. I did note that it moved a bit back, but I don't consider that an issue. I have not noted any reduction in range of the R1T with the topper on it. The topper allowed my wife and I to camp and sleep in the back of the R1T. I use walking poles to hold the Air-Window up (see the photos). We added a strip of LED lights to provide illumination at night (see photos). There are some compromises with the Flated topper. You lose access to the buttons to open the tunnel doors and the tailgate. I use the Rivian App on my phone to open the tunnel and tailgate. It is easy for anyone to open the zippers of the Air-Window, so no security. You can see very little when using the rearview mirror. The tint on the windows of the Flated topper blocks almost all light coming through. Not a big problem with R1T since you can use the rear view camera. The topper provides protection from rain but dust can come through. We noticed the dust penetration after driving on a dirt road, but did not see any water penetration when we cleaned the Flated topper with a high pressure water hose. I would prefer a ratchet style harness to secure the topper to the truck. The harnesses provided are functional but a little difficult to tighten down as much as I want. Overall my wife and I are very happy with the Flated topper and would have bought it even knowing the issues listed above.
