I come to Flated from a Leer Tonneau cover which took 3-4 people and 45 minutes to put on and take off.
My first time putting the Flated cover on took 30 minutes by myself in the dark. It takes about 5 minutes to put on and take off and stores well.
Regularly drive 75mph for 45 minutes on the highway and have had no problem.
Water proof but wish it fit more tightly- otherwise, you can squeeze a hand in. Also wish there was a locking mechanism in the back. Otherwise. Love it.

Camper is to keep my equipment from sun and gettimg wet. And some what secured in my truck. I need to amorall the outside so it will last longer.
Easy assembly and setup, had a couple of storms and no issues. Looking forward to camping this fall. Everyone who sees it likes it and can’t believe it’s an inflatable top.
I received the topper and immediately unpacked it, blew it up and attached it to my truck, easy peasy. I used it for the weekend and was pleased with how it held up. I used it again a few weeks later for a day trip and still, pleased with the ease of setup and getting it attached. We then took the family camping, and with this topper on my bed it allowed for so much more space and cargo to be loaded into the truck making packing and going camping sooooo much more easy. I am very happy i found and purchased this, I will be using it much more, I'm sure.
I even got my brother to buy one. :-)
1 thing i wish came with the topper was a duffle bag of sorts to hold the pump, ties , and patch kit, other than that this gets a 5 star and i am happy and exited to tell folks about it when they ask.

What a great product. I have had three hernia surgeries and I didn’t want a heavy shell. I can move it around myself. So sturdy you can stand on it. It stays on no problem on the freeway. Thank you everyone at Flated. 🙏🏕️😊✌️
Got this for my daughter for her cross country road trip. We were easily able to get it set up by ourselves. It fit great. She’s crossed 3 state lines so far and it’s been perfect. Great, great well made genus product!!
Haven’t had a chance to actually use it yet, but did inflate it, check the fit and how everything works. Impressed with the thought that’s obviously gone into it, and the quality of the build.
Really like the shell so far. It was really easy to inflate and install without additional help. Also like the versatility of being able to remove, deflate, pack, and store in a relatively small area.
Just got my topper on and did a week-long camping trip in Montana. It was solid on the highways, with no movement and it kept everything dry. I couldn't be happier with this purchase!!
The Velcro band for the back window did not work. It slipped off my Toyota Tacoma tailgate. I ended up gluing a small strip of Velcro in the middle of the top edge of the tailgate. I may do more, but for now, it’s adequate. Surprising how almost no glue sticks to the plastic bed liner material which came on the truck from Toyota. Used double sided tape and even that is marginal. Just want to hold it in place to prevent leaking in heavy rain.
I was nervous about buying an inflatable topper due to durability but after a few thousand miles with the Flated on all types or roads and trails and weather it held up perfectly and looks brand new. In a couple weeks I will be putting about 3-4 more thousand miles on it on my next road trip and can’t wait.
Setup out of the box is super easy and took 15-20 minutes to go from box to on the truck.
The only negative I could see is if you’re not a people person because be prepared to have curious onlookers coming up to talk about it in parking lots and gas stations. I love talking about my truck and adventures so no complaints here on that one.
This topper is no bull shit, it’s the real deal and my only regret is that I didn’t get it sooner!
Set up was great! Not quite as waterproof as we were hoping during our camping trip, but not terrible. Biggest issue was deflating and trying to fold it back up. It was a lot harder than the videos we saw.
Thus far, it has proven itself to be weather tight. Oddly, the fit closest to the cab is spot on while the fit near the tail gate is not - yet... This back part is a bit too wide. I am being cautious about how to adjust it.
We have a bit of a sag over the tail gate that does not seem to be problematic at this point. However, we are wondering how to get rid of the sag.
We really like it and would recommend it to anyone.
Canopy looks great on my Tacoma. Wished it fit a little better around the front and back of my truck bed. Received the wrong front window cover and was shipped the correct cover within days, write before Christmas.
It's cold here in Montana so the product is really stiff. Consequently it doesn't fit as tightly as it should. And it tends to loosen up and shift around. I expect those annoyances to disappear next summer when it warms up! (If I had access to a heated garage I'd probably solve the issue now.)
Having said that, I love the cap. Even after having done lots of research I was delighted with the quality. And...best part is how easy it is for me to lift it on and off. I'm a 70 year old woman and though I'm very active, I'm not as strong as I used to be. My Flated cap weighs 46.6 pounds and is a dream to get on and off by myself!!

My first time truck bed camping. I needed something light that I can put on by myself so Flated made sense. Used only once during perfect weather conditions so I can’t speak to rain but slept very comfortably. Getting in and out is a challenge with the zipper and Velcro. It doesn’t seem like these were made with that in mind. Getting it deflated and put away was also difficult. I recommend updating your instructions guide to include videos and QR codes. I see this Flated as a short term solution.
I want to like this more than I do, but I don't dislike it enough to return it. I wish I had gone for the mid-rise version for my Nissan Frontier--not the cap. The visibility is poor and the fit is so-so. BUT it's so easy to store and to remove, and I love that it can haul a kayak or canoe on top (a thing that other soft toppers generally can't do without additional equipment and therefore additional $$). If you're between the cap and the midrise version, pay the extra for the midrise!
The Flated Air-topper (Mid Long 4th Gen) is a work in progress. More of a beta/prototype than a refined, finished product. I purchased the unit primarily for bi-annual overlanding trips in a Tacoma long bed, to help keep sun and dust off outdoor gear.
I'll first share the pros then the flaws/misses. The concept is a good one - a lightweight truck cap that stores small when not in use. Lightweight saves fuel and makes solo installation easy. The materials used are durable. The valves work correctly and retain air pressure when they should and release it when they should. Were it the only lightweight small-storing cap solution in the market, it would be a great option. Alas, it has competition (more on that in a moment).
Now the cons. At $1400 its should have a model-specific design rather than a one-size fits the class design. On the Tacoma long bed the units rain skirt does NOT fit correctly at the front edge of the unit - it will not stretch to seal the front corners of the bed leaving small gaps for rainwater and dust/blown sand to enter the bed. The camlock straps included are inadequate to securely retain the unit in place on the bedrails on rough tracks. It slides side to side and front to back with bumps and vibration. I improved retention using longer, stronger kayak straps and criss-crossing the straps on the side bed floor D-rings but that only solved the issue partially and compromises cargo handling a bit.
I also have a Softopper. It likewise is not perfect. Its weakest link is poor quality rear window zipper stops. One or the other sipper carriers will come off in the bush when you unzip the back window and you may or may not lose it and may or may not be able to reattach it in the field. It does not store as compactly as the Air-topper and installation takes a bit longer. On the other hand it does not slide around atop the bed rails, is no heavier, costs no more, and is model-specific in design so it fits each truck model perfectly. It is more weather tight than the Air-topper as well.
I would love to see Air-topper develop model-specific designs and fitments and offer a superior attachment solution. Until then I can't recommend it over similarly priced similarly targeted alternatives.
I want to like it but just can't. Maybe its just how it fits on my Ford Ranger. Tail ends of the cap flare out past bed sides and I need to spend too much time fixing that. Found that lesser pressures and a cinch strap to draw sides together before tying down helps. But that's a bit contradictory to ads that say its quick to set up. There's no getting around the fact that rear flap is just sloppy looking, when driving around town I just take the flap off. I'm taking the whole cap off except when needed and it just does not deflate and fold as easily as videos show.
