From the Carolina Coast to Florida’s Shores and Back West Again

VLOG 29 takes us on a whirlwind journey as Ken Hoeve, co-founder of FLATED®, hits the road once again—this time traveling from North Carolina to Orlando, Florida for a high-energy MOPAR event. The trip begins with a drive down the coast, including a stop in St. Augustine, where Ken takes in the historic charm and ocean views before rolling into Orlando.

A Wild Weekend at the MOPAR Event

The MOPAR gathering brought serious excitement—and a few unexpected twists. Ken linked up with Dan, one of FLATED’s product designers, and the two dove into the event where trucks, builds, and big personalities filled the scene. Things took a turn when Dan took a hard fall that resulted in a couple of broken ribs, leading to a detour to Urgent Carewith Ken by his side. Even with the bumps along the way, the energy of the event and the community made it a memorable stop on the roadtrip.

Chasing Coastlines & Campfires Across Florida

After the event, Ken kept the adventure rolling by exploring the Florida coast. With the Air-Topper® and Air-Deck®dialed in, truck camping was easy and stress-free—leaving time for slow mornings, waterfront sunsets, and plenty of fishing.

He stopped in:

• Dunnellon, where the rivers run clear and slow
• Cedar Key, a quiet coastal gem known for small-town charm
• Panacea, where the Gulf breeze and salty flats call for long days of casting and exploring

Each destination offered a different slice of Florida life—from backroads to beaches to sleepy fishing docks.

Back on the Road—Headed for Las Vegas

With the coast explored and the fishing rods packed, Ken is now steering the truck back across the country, making his way to Las Vegas for the SEMA Show. From the Atlantic coast to desert neon, the journey continues—and the Air-Topper® is right there with him every mile.
