I first met Ryan and the Flated team at Overland Expo PNW during their debut show. After interviewing Ryan, I immediately saw the incredible potential behind Flated’s innovative design. And it didn’t stop there. After a few drinks, Ryan took things to a new level by launching the “SS Flated” straight into the lake at PNW, literally paddling a truck topper across the water. It was one of those moments that perfectly captured both the ingenuity and the fun spirit behind the brand.When it came time to build out my new 4th Gen Tacoma, choosing the Flated Air Topper was an easy decision. I had already pushed the topper hard on my Super Ute build, where it performed flawlessly. On the 4th Gen Tacoma, the Flated again protected all my gear through the black sand trails of Oregon, once again exceeded expectations. It worked perfectly on the stock bed, and later transitioned seamlessly onto the Next Jump Outfitters flatbed with side boxes. Even better, the Flated fits perfectly inside the Trukd Bedrack on the Tacoma, creating what I consider the ultimate overland topper setup.
Flated has been and will continue to be my go-to for every build. Not just because the team is exceptional or because it is the latest standout product in the industry, but because it is simply the right piece of gear at the right price point. It works, it is innovative, and it solves real problems without overcomplicating anything.
