ABOUT FLATEDĀ®

ABOUT FLATEDĀ®

FLATEDĀ® was founded in March 2020 during the pandemic lockdown by four outdoor industry veterans — Monique Keefer, Ken Hoeve, Dan Watts, and Ryan Guay — with a shared vision to create inflatable, functional space for vehicles using advanced drop-stitch technology, the same material used in high-performance paddleboards and kayaks.

Their flagship innovation, the FLATEDĀ® Air-TopperĀ®, is the world’s first patented inflatable truck cap — designed to inflate and install in minutes while weighing less than 65 pounds. Building on that success, the FLATEDĀ® Air-CarrierĀ® became the first patented inflatable rooftop cargo carrier, engineered to fit nearly any vehicle and perfect for hauling gear on road trips and adventures.

Today, FLATEDĀ® products are available at Flated.com, Backcountry.com, and through select specialty automotive retailers. The brand’s unique lineup even earned a feature on Shark Tank, fueling the company’s next phase of growth.

Headquartered in Carlsbad, California — a hub for surf and paddle culture — with a customer service center in Missoula, Montana, FLATEDĀ® continues to design patent-pending products that are inflatable, deflatable, and easily transportable. Each product embodies the brand’s mission: to simplify outdoor adventure and make it easier for everyone to hit the road and explore.
